Welcome to Flower Hill

We are currently closed for tours.

Thank you for reaching out to schedule a tour of the Flower Hill Urban Homestead Museum!

We are looking forward to hosting you at the homestead soon. In February, a major restoration project is set to get underway here at Flower Hill. We will be getting a brand-new roof! We are hopeful that the project will be completed by early March.

Until then, we hope you will enjoy and explore some of our virtual tours and experiences on the website.

Our primary entrance is via the front door (under the columns). ADA access is available via the east entrance, alongside the driveway. Tours begin by the historic rose arbor on the east side of the home.

Accessibility

Select first floor historic rooms and exhibits are wheelchair accessible. Architectural and preservation concerns prevent us from being able to provide elevator service to second floor rooms; however, interpretive materials are available upon request for exhibits, displays, and the grounds. If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility, do not hesitate to contact us.

Directions

Flower Hill is located 5 minutes from central downtown Austin, just a few blocks west of the Lamar and W. 6th intersection.

Our main gate entrance is tucked back from W. 6th street between Winflo and Pressler on the north side of the street.

1316 W. 6th Street 78703

Please note, the driveway is historic and very narrow. Wide vehicles and vehicles with little ground clearance may scrape on the historic drive, so please use caution as you navigate through the iron gate entrance.

The driveway and the on-site parking are only open to those who have made an appointment to tour the museum.

We encourage carpooling or rideshare to visit our site. The Cap Metro 6th and Pressler stop is right in front of our property. We also have bike racks on site to support our bike commuters.
